Richard has over two decades of experience as a growth-focused investment banker. His experience spans a wide range of strategic and financing transactions and consulting services for medical technology and life sciences clients. He prides himself on taking a very hands-on approach with each client and for every engagement.

 

Richard was previously a Managing Director and Head of West Coast Medical Device Investment Banking for Piper Jaffray & Co. and a Principal in the Healthcare Group at Lazard Ltd.  Prior to that, Richard was a Principal in the Private Capital Markets Group at Robertson Stephens.  Richard started his investment banking career as an Associate in the healthcare group at Lehman Brothers.  Richard is a Certified Public Accountant and worked as an auditor with KPMG Peat Marwick.

 

Richard’s direct experience includes buy-side/sell-side M&A, leveraged transactions, corporate partnership development, and private and public financing. He has developed extensive relationships with executives, board members, venture capitalists, private equity investors and thought leaders throughout the medical technology and life sciences industry.

 

Richard resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.  When not working, he enjoys raising two increasingly older boys, family life and cooking.  He is an enthusiastic league tennis player and, to his wife's chagrin, a struggling but undeterred guitarist.
